Analysis and solution of power quality problems in manufacturing
There are four main types of power quality problems in the manufacturing industry:

1.Harmonic voltage and harmonic current

Harmonic voltages and currents are characterized by voltage and current waveforms that are no longer standard sine waves, but are distorted. Harmonic voltage is one of the main reasons for the malfunction of industrial automation equipment, and harmonic current is the main reason for transformer overheating, cable overheating, reactive power compensation cabinet failure, tripping and other fault phenomena.

2.Surge voltage

Surge voltage (also known as transient voltage) is a random voltage, short duration (tens of μs), high amplitude voltage. The hazard of surge voltage is to damage equipment hardware, shorten equipment life, cause data loss, and cause automatic control equipment malfunction.

3. Voltage dip

Voltage dip refers to the reduction of the amplitude of the rms value of voltage for a short time (less than 60 cycles), and the reduction range reaches 90%. Voltage sags are one of the main causes of malfunction of automatic control equipment.

4. Low power factor

A large number of induction motors or other inductive electrical equipment are used. Such as: electric welding machine, induction electric furnace. The reactive power demand is large, the power factor is reduced, and the force rate is fined.
